John Bottega Executive Director

John holds the position of Interim Managing Director for the Council, and leads the Council’s CDO Forum and Data Management Practices. John is a senior strategy and data management executive with more than 30 years of experience in the industry. Over his career, John has held various positions in supporting a firm’s data management functions. Since 2006, John has held the title of Chief Data Officer in both the private and public sectors, serving as CDO for Citi and Bank of America, and holding the post of CDO for the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. John began working with the EDM Council as an industry contributor in 2005 and served as Chairman from 2007 to 2014. He joined the Council’s executive team as a Senior Advisor in 2014 and took on the role of Interim Managing Director in November 2017.

Mike is a professional facilitator and has been a financial information industry advocate for over 25 years. Mike is an active participant in industry initiatives, provides consultation to global market authorities on the data implications of financial regulatory reform and is recognized as an expert in reference data strategy, governance, data quality and standards. Mike is currently advancing the EDM Council's research and education initiatives.

Michael Meriton Senior Advisor, Industry Engagement

Mike Meriton supports the Council as Senior Advisor, responsible for Industry Engagement. Meriton directs the strategic partner programs and industry adoption initiatives associated with the Council’s Data Management Capability Assessment Model (DCAM), the Financial Industry Business Ontology (FIBO) and the Council’s new membership team. Meriton was one of the original founders of the EDM Council, served as its first Board Chair and has been providing leadership to the organization as the Chair of the Finance & Operations Committee of the EDMC Board. Meriton was previously the CEO of GoldenSource Corporation and has held senior leadership positions at CheckFree (Fiserv), Dun & Bradstreet and Oracle.

Dennis Wisnosky Senior Advisor and Consultant

Dennis works with the EDM Council as Senior Advisor and Consultant in the implementation process for the Council’s Financial Industry Business Ontology (FIBO) suite of standards. He provides technical strategy and operational guidance based on extensive experience with enterprise architecture, ontology development and semantic deployment. Dennis helps address the political and technical realities associated with the FIBO standard. Propr to joining the EDM Council, Dennis led the development and marketing of products ranging from industrial robots and factory controls to software for Project Management, Business Process Modelling/Analysis/Optimization. He is the author of 7 books on these topics, and an internationally acclaimed writer and speaker.

Mike Bennett Head of Semantics and Standards

Mike is the semantics expert and ontologist for the EDM Council. He is the architect and editor of the Semantics Repository and represents the Council within the Object Management Group and on ISO technical standards committees. He has over 15 years of financial industry experience with investment management software, data management systems design, messaging standards, product testing and project management. Mike provides technical and data mapping consultation to Council members and is well-regarded as both a resource and frequent speaker within the semantics community.

With more than 30 years financial markets and reference data experience Carole supports all business operational matters for the Council. This includes, but is not restricted to; invoicing and payments, calendars and events, database updates, web access and web maintenance.
