Working groups provide a mechanism for members to make progress on active projects. Meetings take place both in person and via conference call. Participation is open to all Council members. If you would like to be added to the distribution list for any EDM Council working group, please send an e-mail request (indicating which group) to Carole Mahoney. Below is a snapshot of our current working groups along with links to relevant documents.
Business Metrics: Anecdotes and business logic are not sufficient to support financial institutions in managing content assets and establishing organizational priorities. Valid and replicable metrics for measuring both EDM performance and data quality improvement are a core objective of the Council. The metrics initiative focuses on the collection and normalization of metrics to meet the mandates of benchmarking, ROI determination, data comparability and content asset leverage at the enterprise level. Downstream Integration: The implementation challenges associated with making the transition from silo-based environments to delivering data from an authoritative source to downstream applications are significant. The downstream integration initiative is designed as a mechanism for interaction among involved parties to capture the core technical, organizational, and project management issues related to getting data enriched, transformed, controlled and delivered to end applications.

Supply Chain Management: EDM Council members recognize financial information as a “manufactured product” with an identifiable chain of supply. The goal is to improve the chain of supply and reduce the number of transformations required for effective data management. The supply chain initiative focuses on the implementation of unique and precise identifiers for financial instruments, data attributes and business entities as the pre-requisite for EDM.
