Semantics Repository

The goal of the EDM Councils Semantics Repository is to standardize the terms and definitions of all reference data attributes stored in the master files of financial institutions and passed among supply chain partners. Precise nomenclature translates into a common language between systems and sources, reduces the cost of doing business, and promotes confidence in data among business users. It is at the foundation of effective data management and an essential building block for business process automation.

Semantics Repository Updated to Beta Release

The Semantics Repository is now at Beta status as of 19 June 2010. This status covers all reference data terms and definitions for traded securities. Terms for pricing and analytics, as well as all terms for OTC derivatives, are in draft, with substantive new material on the derivatives front. These will be re-reviewed by our subject matter experts and finalized over the coming weeks.

Please click through to the Semantics Repository website for all material and downloads.

Diagrams and tables are provided by subject area, with a spreadsheet of overall terms and definitions under the main Financial Instruments menu option.

The underlying repository can be downloaded from the Downloads page on the Repository site as an Enterprise Architect .EAP file. There is also a web-browsable zip archive of the underlying model but this is very large, and is not configured for a non technical audience
